Disaster Relief
Provides planning preparedness and distribution of
food and cleaning supplies for local natural disaster,
especially periodic flooding of  the Hocking and Ohio Rivers .

Disaster Relief Action Plan
A Primary objective of this program is voluntary registration of at-risk Athens County
residents to insure that no one is unaccounted for during a disaster or
evacuation . It is important to begin planning for living on your own and being
self-sufficient for 24-36 hours after a disaster .
The network offers several free publications and training opportunities and help with such
planning .

Recovery
Recovery starts soon after impact and extends for some  time following the  disaster
even up to several years .
Typical activities :
1. Infrastructure and vital life support system are restored .
2. Routines of daily life are resurrected .
3. Plans are initiated for permanent housing .
4. Repairing
5. Rebuilding
6. Relocating homes
